I have a silicon bronze gear with one or two teeth that are bad. I would like to weld them up and machine. I have a tig welder can I just weld using silicon bronze rod? Any tips?

Dontcha have a foot pedal?
Current setting depends on the thickness of the material, but in general, copper being such a good conductor, copper alloys like more amps than you would think.
Start low, if it doesnt melt, turn up the power. But for a 3/4" thick gear body, I would be setting my syncrowave at 200amps or so, and feathering in the pedal- if its too much, back off.
