Lathe in the LOGO

PeterH-I'm agnostic on the identity subject, myself. Have seen both on ebay (hardinge & elgin of that style) but not in real life. And the Elgin crew on Ravensbrook Ave was a secessionist group who mutineered from the Hardinge plant across the street, and continued to mirror HB product during the yearsof their existence. Some of the Elgin stuff had neat refinements especially the method of fastening attachments on the split bed models, and was sometimes built a bit stouter than the HB model.

I have an Elgin dividing head that is a spitting image of the lathe headstock. It is convertible from indirect to direct indexing.
