My Basement Shop

I am a Merchant Marine and work out of NY Harbor when at sea. Here are pictures of my basement shop where is spend most of my time when I’m home from sea.

I finished the TMC1000 CNC mill. The project log is is on CNCZone with a Youtube video of my first cut.

Here is a picture of my CNC mill rough cuting some stablized wood to make it easier to turn with the lathe.
I made titanium scales to the Microtech Terzuola. I milled slots in the titanium then inlayed abalone into the slots.
I also and make SS fire button and milled the pockets in the handles then inlayed them with abalone.

No my basement shop is ground level and the door by the Bridgeport goes outside. Actually the shop stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter (because of the furnace).

I like all the storage you have. You can never have enough places to store serious tools and odds and ends.

I'm assuming the pictures are of knives? Anyway, very good looking pieces! I'm not sure I've seen abalone of that color.
 
Hey Norsksea? How in the world you get that mill down in the basement?
you had to have at least 10 guys? and had to repair the stairs.
