zeroing out preset digital micrometers

I have a mitutoyo digital v micrometer. I just had to replace the battery and when I did it stopped zeroing out to the preset. It does zero out to zero but I need it to zero out to the preset. I do believe this was addressed before but I am having no luck with searching for it. Sooooo how do I get it to zero out to the preset? Thanks for any help.

Hold down the set button until the preset shows up then move the cursor to the value you want to change then toggle thru until you get to zero

you gotta hold set down again for like *another* five seconds to get it to toggle.

It's really goofy.
