So Cyclotron Al has an Ultradex shipped in and is concerned about transport damage. Not to worry. I produce my harbor freight incline gauge and he says it will work to check the indexer.
test platform-warehouse cart with 4x4's
method of securing digital gauge-tape
as ultradex platten is rotated 4x4's shift but Al says harbor freight device compensates for this

Result- Al pronounces the indexer well and good with repeatabily of +/- 0.1 degrees. Amazing. That is precisely what I got when I checked the HF unit with a Yuasa cnc table.
Conclusion- all is well in the precision universe

That's beautiful. And a credit to those who can actually look at something from a practical standpoint and say "good enough" and know that it is.

The best part about the whole thing IMO is the header on the post itself. I don't think I could have dreamed up a way to get "Ultradex" and "Harbor Freight" in the same phrase...
