Howdy Y'all

1973 Yale Forklift G83P 4 or 5lb lift capacity.

which fluid would you recommend?
I have access to Coastal / 640 oz. R&O hydraulic fluid
Part Number:
46009
OR
Coastal / 640 oz. Multitrac tractor fluid
Part Number:
42909
or

Coastal / 640 oz. economy AW-32 hydraulic oil
Part Number:
45009
or

Coastal / 640 oz. 303 tractor fluid
Part Number:
45609.

Today I rerouted some hydro lines on the forklift that were too close to the exhaust and heard some gurgling when I had the lines off, I figured I let some air into the system plus the left tilt cylinder leaks a bit.
I figure I am low.

today The lift was struggling to lift my 24 valve cummins diesel.

Hoping its just low on fluid.

bought this forklift to pull the motor on a semi truck. 6-71 Detroit diesel.
The detroit is a high rpm screamer that will sing.

BTW
always looking for big diesel motors.

Nice handle :rolleyes5:

Dump some AW-46 hydraulic oil in and call it a day. A forklift seems like a terrible tool for pulling motors.

"Are you serious? ...or am I one toke over the line ?"

yep. in my life I have not always been that keene white male in everyones eye. No worries, anytime I get negative response it just fuels the fire for me. :-) lets me know that yes I am still not the normal mechanic. Which is good because who wants to be the norm?

Yes a forklift is a perfect tool to remove a 5000lb 5ft long diesel motor and transmission.
The forklift can be operated with small precision movements.
