bridgeport rotary table

Im looking at a bridgeport 12" rotary table.
It doesnt come with any index plates. Are they available to buy?
 
Sorry, im new to machining
I thought the plates where needed to accurately make gears?

They are. You can make gears without them but an indexing plate setup will make it a lot easier and more reliable.

In reality, if you want to make gears, you should probably be looking at a dividing head and tailstock, not a rotary table.
