Right now I have 2 lathes Hardinge KL1
That is a Britisch HLV-H
I am working on the first one and right away I have a electrical problem
When I activate the ON button (by pulling it) Some relays /contacters start to rattle Not humming but like a electrical doorbell

Here is a picture of the cabinet

The fabricator of the electrical panel seems to be F&R Cooling LTD

These 3 contacters on the right start to rattle The most right one sparks also

I checked the obvious but could not find anything
So a diagram would be really usefull

Very first thing I would check is if you are supplying the same voltage this machine is configured for. If it's wired for 480 and you're supplying 240, that could explain a rattling contactor. It's also possible that the coil on the contactor has become weak, in which case you'd need to replace that contactor.

If someone has been messing about with the wiring since the last time this machine ran correctly, it's conceivable that they wired the stop/safety circuit through the wrong set of contacts. When I was about 12, I made a nasty flailing buzzbox by wiring the NC contacts of a relay to its coils.

Got a diagram
Found it
The brake coil had shortend and that dropped the output voltage from the transformer when that contactor ICR engaged
That then let the contactor disengage and then it started all over engaging disengaging

I ask the donator of the diagram if I can make it public over here
