Can I keep my VFD for a control, if I buy a phase converter?

I now have more than one machine that
runs on 3 phase and will probably wind
up with more.

I like the ability of being able to
adjust the spindle speed on the fly
of my step pulley head. Can I run the
Lenze VFD in conjunction with a phase
converter for this purpose?

MOST of the VFD's in industrial use, worldwide, are powered from 3-Phase. They like it better than single-phase! Even poorly-balanced RPC 3-P is easier on them that single-phase, so "yes, generally".

"Mixing" VFD and direct off the RPC 3-phase, same machine-tool & controls, is what you need to be careful with.

Any mill with but one load-motor should not be complicated.

Separate juice-pump or feed motors KEPT "separate" should be OK as well.
