So I am a newbie too machining. I weld and fabricate steel for interior design. I've done doors and railing oven hoods etc. but I just got myself a small mill to open up my capabilities. I got it set up with a basic phase converter and am milling some rigid shaft couplers for a pivoting window I am building.
What is this chattering and should I be alarmed? It sounds like the spindle is knocking around inside the head if I am not mistaken. Should I pull the head off and rebuild? Anyone in the Sacramento area want to come by my shop and show me some basics? I'd gladly pay for a good hands-on lessons. Thanks.
