I bought a Hardinge HC chucker with the AT threading unit attached. It came an extra CT-A. Will the CT-A work on the HC lathe? Is there an advantage to running one over the other?

I am not up on all the threading units that Hardinge made for the chuckers. I ran one of the air actuated automatic units one day. At another shop I watched a foreman use a manual threading on a Hardinge copy (Tsugami). The manual one seemed to be trouble free and a lot easier to set up. If the CT-A is manual and the one Tsugami copied, I would say you will have a lot less trouble with it and it can be almost as fast as the automatic one. There is a lot going on in the automatic unit, a lot of maintenance required and things to break. Others have asked about the automatic units here and they do not get much help because very few people here have ever used them.
