I was scolded here once about not using the metal frame as a connection for one of the secondary wires from a control transformer.
A 230vac to 24vac transformer with one of the secondary wires connected to the metal frame and the other wire going to all the control stuff.
My lathe was built wired this way with a 230vac to 115vac control transformer. Is yours like that?
