hlv--h form tool skiving

Well, Thanks to JH for finding this and posting the link. Bill that is a different profile on the cutter than I have seen used on screw machines, pretty interesting! I see that the video is 6 years old, any chance you have some photos that you can post here? it would be interesting to see more details of the geometry. It is so much different than the skiving tools I have seen used on screw machines.
I do have cutting oil in my HLV-H but it (the oil) has not been used in 20 years. :-) On my production machines I will be gradually going over to Mobilmet 427 as it is as clear as water. As I am slowing down and I still have part of a drum of Mobilmet Nu that might be a long time.

has your HLV-H suffered--- consequence of radial loading from skiving?

my go to lathe is Hardinge HXL---fabulously crafted in Devon Exeter--but I
would have concern about long segment loading even with this beefy instrument
