M head lower bearing advice

Hi All

What do you folks think of these for use in the lower end spindle bearings for an M-Head.
SKF NU 205 ECP SKF NU205ECP Single Row Cylindrical Roller Bearing 25x52x15mm Simply Bearings Ltd ~ Oil Seals SKF ********* TIMKEN KOYO NTN NKE TRULOC Needle Rollers Taper Rollers Rod Ends Oilite Bushes Loose Balls O Rings Grease Plain Thrust

Any advice?

Those are the wrong bearings for that spindle.

Replacement is a Fafnir 205K. $8 from BP.

205K is a deep groove ball bearing. I could possibly be used but not a practical solution. the 205K appears to be used in the top end together with a pre-load smalley wave spring on some later models. I only found that arrangement in the english manual.

The lower end uses a matched pair of 205 size angular contact bearings. 2MM205WI CR DUL is the designation on the box I have.

Beware that a set of 7205 ABEC 7 bearings are going to run you a few hundred.

Bearings

If you watch ebay you can periodically find Fafnir 2mm205WI DUL precision bearings that are used in in the M head and the Clausing mill. I picked up a matched set for about $40.
