Hi all
ive got my machine up and running again almost fully functional!

i need a new switch alternative is fine as long as it works the same, i cant find one as it seems a bit specialist!

i need 4 or 5 position
i currently have

1.reverse start (non latching)
2.reverse (latching)
3.off
4.forward (latching)
5.forward start (non latching)

1 and 5 are linked just the starter circuit, (see pics silver switch) 10.jpg10.5.jpg11.jpg

has anyone done this before and knows of a switch?

Looks like Telemecanique switches but there must be many alternatives.
Some questions come to mind:
Hole size?
Number of poles? (pull out the switch, draw a diagram).
Multiple NO and/or NC contacts?
Wiring? (see if you can get a BP diagram).

Once you have an idea of this, get hold of a seller and a switch catalogue.
Sorry, that`s the best I can do, not having a Bridgeport.

Thanks

so its 22mm cut out
i have had it out and cleaned

left 90 degrees -start-(momentary) // left 45 degrees NC (latching) //center NO // right 45 degrees NC(latching) // right 90 degrees -start-(momentary)

momentary is spring loaded and goes back to right/left 45 degrees
right or left 45 degrees is in NC state at 45 degrees and 90 degrees either side

start circuit left and right is looped same circuit

zebbguy, I know I asked for it but I got cold feet, looking at your drawing. I thought I knew enough of american relay and switch schematics but apparently there are holes in my knowledge. I read another PM thread recently about the different and confusing schematic styles and I fully agree.
However, if you get hold of an U.S. switch catalogue (re Peter) you should be allright, at least I hope so. If not, do return to this forum.
Regards (shamefaced),

Idec (like many others)seems to have a system where you can stack several contactblocs eighter NO or NC onto the switch
So now you only need a switch with 5 positions with a latching action on both ends

Peter

Idec has some very close switch formats but i cant get one that is momentary and latching :willy_nilly:

Looks like the one i have for speed control 5 POS 2 Pole Momentary I am sure you seen this
