A trustworthy friend has a surplus J-head Bridgeport for sale which I have not seen. Only issue is it is stuck in low-range. He is asking $1000. Everything else being equal is that a fair price? How easy are these to move? I do not have access to much beyond some husky illegals.
I would sell off a Grizzly mini-mill to defray costs.

Hard to say from your description what the mill is worth. The head issue may be very minor, or not. How else is the machine. Play in feeds, wear in the dovetails. What else is with it, power feeds, readouts.

I everything is in good shape except for the stuck head, $1000 is a very reasonable price. Not so much if the mill is heavily worn.

The mill weighs around 2000 lb. It can be disassembled for moving. The column is the heaviest single part, about 600 lb. Take the head off, four bolts. The turret, the ram, the table and saddle and finally the knee. Each is around 100-300 lb.

Not the way I would want to move one, but it can be done.
