Hi All
I need to replace the brass overload clutch worm gear on my J-series Bridgeport-ish import mill. Pictures I post don't show up yet, so FYI I'm referring to the brass wheel on bottom left of the head with 3 through-holes that connects to the quill overload clutch gear, and not the one in the upper saddle assembly.
Unfortunately most suppliers can't ship here and I can't afford to pay $200+ for one gear from the ones that do, so only option is to manufacture it.
The gear is pretty much destroyed from previous owner overloading the overload clutch (Ironic? ), so I can't take measurements from it reliably.
Does anyone know the actual specification of this gear in terms of helix angles, pitch diameter, leads, gear angles, etc? Any information will be appreciated!
