Just picked up a '83 CHNC 4 with a Fagor 8025T controller and im looking to run it on single phase. I have a 240v 60A sub in my shop(garage) and Ive had a DSM-59 running off a 3hp RPC for many years. Ive read that these lathes can easily be switched to run off of single phase without going the RPC route.

It has a 7.5HP 208v 3ph motor.

Thanks for any help
Aaron

I am fairly sure there is no way to run that machine on single phase. We ran a Hardinge GT off a RPC for several years with no issues. We bought a premium CNC rated unit. All the rest of the machines ran on the standard RPC. Surprisingly we had a very low electric bill with all those machines running.

Contact the author! That would be too easy:) Why didn't I think of that.
Thought id look into other avenues before I pull the trigger on an RPC.

Thanks for the help. It's nothing but crickets over on the Zone when I asked this question.

I have a 3ph 10 HP motor running off a VFD with single phase power. You loose a little power but works great.
