Hello,
I have purchased a Bridgeport Series 1 vertical mill, 1997 model.
I am going to pick it up in a few days.

I am loading into an enclosed 16' trailer.
Trailer door opening is 74" high.

I need to know precisely how tall is the Bridgeport with the head "inverted"?
I know the overall mill height is supposed to be 82" so I could subtract the motor height above the ram?
When inverted the quill/spindle will stick UP some amount above the ram?

I will be using a pallet which will cause a RISE of 5" (plus a little to slide it) so precised measurement (if close) is essensial.

Can anyone help me with this information?

Thank you so much!

Send me your email or phone number and I will send you pics. It is actually less than 66".

Why in an enclosed trailer, Rain and snow, salt on the roads and 600 miles!

Yeah, I saw one on a trailer being pulled though a heavy pop up shower. I know it was unexpected but I would have turned around and gone around or something. Maybe it did not belong to the guy driving.
