Default X-Axis Servo Rapid Feed Lead Screw

I am converting a mill from a Bridgeport 6F-A power feed to a new servo powered feed and the lead screw is way long but also is separated using a bushing and a pin. Does anyone know what I need to do to shorten it? Is there dimensions for me to machine it down or do I need to get a whole different lead screw?

So discovered this is normal and that it needs to be modified or a new adapter shaft needs to be bought (Ill just make on of course). Does anyone have dimensions for what it needs to be?
