Autodesk vs Gibbscam

I've been using GibbsCam 2010 and am thinking of upgrading

Does anyone have experience with the new version of Gibbs?

Im debating whether to buy a new seat or to go on subscription with Autodesk and use their HSM software. A subscription to their total CAD/CAM package is running only $200/month and you get Inventor, HSM, Autocad, Revit, Fusion 360, and Nesting software

Thoughts?

Our background (R&D/prototype/short run production) over last 25yrs is Mastercam, Gibbs, Camworks, Featurecam, Delcam for Solidworks (Featurecam running inside Solidworks), InventorHSM and Fusion 360. Plus long term experience evaluating other systems. Most of our work on CAM side is 2.5D, 3+2 with lesser emphasis on 3D surfacing and 5axis simultaneous. Our main shop uses Featurecam for milling (Brother) and turning (Okuma) plus Fusion for milling (Brother). We do the post tweaking for the main shop as well.

That said, with recent improvements over the last year, we have evolved into using Fusion almost full time. Works fine for our R650 pallet machine, S1000 and S1000 w/5axis attachment (3+2 only) as well as Fadals and DMG DMU50 (Heidenhain). For 4yrs prior to this, we were using InventorPro/Inventor HSM Ultimate (plus some two dozen other programs in the bundle that we never bothered with) for $2,450/yr.

At the end of the day, if the post spits out a line like 'G01 X5.0 Y2.0 F150' our machines don't somehow preform better if that code came from a $40K install of NX or a $500/yr install of Fusion.

Our experience with Gibbs was from many years ago. We had problems, but they were more related to dealing with the company than with functions of the software. Too long ago to be able to comment on current versions.
