    Great explanations given here; especially kazix and precision metal. I really like the little Mitutoyo Zero-Setter Series 950 - 950-111 zero setter. I feel much better bring down tools on this spring loaded indicator. Also, it is smaller and round and only 1" tall-- so I think more versatile.

    I'm kinda fluent in Fusion 360, have used its CAM on my plasma table for a bit. I currently don't have a PC setup to transfer or DNC to the 88HS, that's a large portion of why I want to hand cam at first. I have a project on the horizon that I can manually punch in and make enough to buy some vises and a Calmotion setup. Fingers crossed....
