Hi,

I just found this cam software and looks really promising especially for lathes but also does live tooling and mill work.

It basically gives you a conversational setup for your non conversational machine.

It's cheap enough at 100 euros for hobbiest or 200 euros for all you rich business people.:D

It has built in RS232 communications as well as a Fanuc post output, with others available.

The author is really quick to respond to any questions I've had.

14 day free trial check it out, could be good just to have sitting on an old laptop next to your lathe.

I checked it out also and think it is off to a good start. I like the concept of it so far. I could definitely see this as some on the floor shop software.

I see they have now release a V3 of e-cam.it
So pretty cool features for a light weight cam software.

Always good to see what others are doing. I like the UI as most things are single click vs double click.

Adaptive cutting module
No drag turing
back plot
cut simulation
post processor editor
etc...

Very interesting. I am looking for something functional and not over kill that will not take years to figure out.
