I just bought a new to me machining center with a Siemens 840D control. Its a 2005 Huron VMC. I see there is a generic post for that control on the Autodesk website and hopefully that will just work out of the box. However when I bought my last new machine I got a post from the manufacturer of the machine for HSMworks and it took weeks for it to work reliably with a lot of trial and error. I don't want to risk a crash nor do I want to spend a couple of weeks of machine freezing wrecking jobs etc like last time.
Is anyone here using HSMworks on a Huron with a 840D? The Huron Manual has a list of M codes but apart from that there is only the Siemens manuals with sample code.
