HSMWORKS 2020 in Solidworks 2018: Can't Open Closed Contours.

Ok...maybe I'm missing something obvious, but I can't seem to change a closed contour into an open one so that I can select parts of that contour to machine.

Seems relatively easy in Fusion 360: click on the closed contour and a mini menu pops up where you can change it to an open contour. Can't seem to do the same thing in HSMWORKS/Solidworks.

Is this a bug, or am I missing something obvious?

Thanks

You don't select contours the same way in HSMWORKS as F360. In HSM in the Geometry tap uncheck the Tangent Propagation and Propagate Along Z boxes, now you can select your individual lines to form the chains you want. IMO I like this a lot better than how F360 does it.

Thanks for the response. You're exactly right. Autodesk actually just contacted me and explained the same thing. (Something I didn't expect!) They also linked this video that explains it as well. YouTube
