Hello Everyone,
I am fairly new to reading G code and trying to make my own post processor... I have a basic understanding of the commands, and I can read the current code my processor spits out line by line and know what it means for our CNC, but I cant really write one.
The problem I am having is my company recently decided to stop our support for Alphacam, which is what I use to make all the CNC programs now. I can still make programs there, and we still have one specific version of Alphacam, but if that crashes or the dongle breaks we might be in trouble.
Even with my current post processor in alphacam, I model everything on solidworks anyway, then just move DXFs there and create the tool paths and post process etc..
What I really want to do is create a post processor for solidworks cam that works with this old Heian CNC router, preferably before the alphacam license dies, and I am stuck with no CNC programs.
Anyone have any advice?
Thanks - Matt
