The question also encompasses electronic work-flow / routers that pass jobs from position to position as job steps are completed. What software, do you like it vs do you not like it?

1) If you are using tablets, what kind of protective case are you using and how are they holding up against oil or coolant?
2) Apple vs Windows ?
3) Reliability of wireless in your environment? Good, bad, reliable, unreliable?
4) How good is the integration with your ERP?

Thanks in advance.

We use Amazon Fire HD 10 along with ShopVOX and Onedrive software. Every job only generates 2 pcs of paper per line item. All drawings are at the shop guy’s fingertips. We use a screen protector and a kid’s foam case.

I have a cheap old Windows desktop at the machine, with a PCI serial card for receiving in-machine probe inspection data through RS-232. Any old computer would do. Load programs through USB, view prints and setup sheets, stream music, etc.

Thanks for the reply. If I have more questions about your implementation are you open to some PM's?
