um, you might want to 'rethink' "as I do not currently live it may make it hard," ..... sir, if you do not currently 'live', that means you are now dead? see? someone may interpret that to be terrible communication... just saying...

I concur... You should edit your initial post and at least put in proper grammar and sentences, if this is you putting your best foot forward.

Brian :)

You doo know they get freezing temps up there, and the rain comes down
in solid form 8 months of the year...But they do have Tims and Swiss Chalet.

Please tell me that this is your attempt at humour.
I had to ask because with you being from Erie Pa. you can not possibly be that ignorant of our weather.
Rain in solid form 8 months of the year!! Seriously???

Yup, me make funny. Me trudge thru knee deep snow 1/2 mile up driveway to fetch me tractor to plow myself out all at -20f. Me live 20 miles south of canuck boarder, me watch canuck Radio & T.V. Me enjoy Ron James much.Ron James on Tim Hortons - YouTube

8 months ?

Yup, we have had snow in mid October, and as late as May (and studded snow tires MUSt be removed by april 15.....)

Doug, I'll next day you whatever you wish from tims, or the chalet.... so long as you sponsor my green card :)

No need, we have IIRC qty (5) Tims in
Erie....and they don't sell donuts.

Swiss Chalet ? That's a different story.

Are you really, really sure you want to come down here ?
( Uhm, well, you doo have "Truedope" up there running things
right into the ground...)

One of my Amish neighbors sold their large farm and sawmill, and moved
the whole family up to Canada.

Ok Doug, give it up.
How is it that you are so informed on our part of the world... Tims and Chalet and politics?

And I like your Truedope line. You sir are right on!!!

I was just reading an article recently that mentioned some Amish up macds' way that were moving to P E I.
Any idea how they go about the task of moving their belongings so far away?
Or do they sell everything and start over.
I have traveled a fair amount on both sides of the border, but never really seen any Jed Clampett type of moves on the roads.
Dave

It's only (20) miles over the lake....T.V and Radio comes in good.

I really liked "The Royal Canadian Air Farce", Ron James,
Chilly beach, Corner gas, Red green (before he got famous,
what was that locally produced, low budget show he did with his wife ?)
The beachcombers, The "Ex" (I think 1980 was when we went)
"Ontario Place" in the 1970's

I like:
The Cooper Brothers
Triumph
April wine
Chillowack
The Bare Naked Ladies
Sloan
Blue Rodeo
(did I forget any ?)

I don't catch "The Rick Mercer Report" much, and he's a bit too
Liberal for me. Same with "This Hour Has 22 Minutes", sometimes
they do hit home though.

The Montreal Comedy fest shows were excellent.

I listen to CKOT and miss both the tobacco reports as well as Bob
Hamilton (night time DJ)

AM 740 comes in strong all over my area, all the way to Pittsburgh.

How's the interment camps coming along the NY/Vermont border ?
I hear G.M. is moving some plants to Mexico too,
so more Canadians & less jobs.

BTW those tour busses that come down for the day to buy clothing
(no sales tax on clothing in Pa) Some of them wimmen folk
aint too bad looking.....:D

The Amish come into town driven by "English", they usually get a neighbor
to take them. Heck they all got cell phones now.

Oh, and when you head south (about now) SLOW DOWN along
I-90, and I-79.

Some of us live here.

Doug, Im VERY serious.
I need to get out of this lala land BS environment.
I've been working for a number of years on the transfer of the family farm (into my name) to avoid capital gains. The bastards keep changing the rules, and now are proposing a nearly 90% tax on estates.
After pouring 100's of K$ into the family farm to ensure it actually produces, while working a day job, owning my own shop, farming, and trying to raise 3 kids under 7.... I'm just about to roll over and die.
I've aged 20 years in the last 10. I dont actually see my kids much, as I'm always working... and it sucks bad.
Every time the gov't catches a whiff of cash, they are worse than vultures. Always an excuse why you dont qualify for "that" write off, meanwhile i know of some that make more from welfare than I do in a month.

Ontario is the most indebted area in north america. More so, bay FAR than California per capita.
Land prices here are around 25K per acre for decent farm land.
Housing prices are literally retarded. 500K gets you a half assed family home in town.
My electrical costs to keep JUST the lights on in my home shop is about $200 monthly.
If im running the VMC, CNC lathe, and a manual machine, I could easily rack that up over the weekend... and I'm on a residential power plan.... not even peak commercial...

I know many Amish, and lots are fleeing north and east.
A lot of those that went north years ago, are now going east to New brunswick and PEI.
I would follow, but there are no jobs!

So... Does anyone want to sponsor an experienced toolmaker (moldmaker) with a pile of complex cnc experience? lol

Poke around 30 miles south of Erie, in Meadville Pa.
Known as the "Tool & die" capital. Lot's of plastic
mold work.

Tool work extends up to Erie, over to St. Mary's/Ridgeway/Emporium for powder metal
