Fitz-Thors Engineering specializes in designing and building custom equipment for manufacturers. We are currently seeking a CNC Machinist to join our team. Duties and Responsibilities:
• Produce quality, precision machined parts by programming (OneCNC), setting up, and operating a CNC machine (HAAS VF-4) as well as manual mills and lathes.
• Maintain quality and safety standards, keep records, maintain equipment and supplies.
• Troubleshoot and service equipment as needed.
• Working with engineers to develop and prove out processes for new products and/or making improvements to existing processes.
• Plan machining strategy by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting GD&Ts.
• Maintain stock inventory.
• Assist with assembly, fabrication, and on-site installations as needed to support the team.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 2-years of verifiable related experience or a CNC machining diploma from a technical school
• Proficient in reading blueprints and using measuring tools
• Must demonstrate consistent attention to detail
• Ability to handle small parts; good dexterity and visual acuity
• Ability to manage time effectively and be able to work unsupervised
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Welding/fabricating experience a plus, but not required
• Experience with CNC plasma/water jet cutting a plus, but not required
• Good verbal and technical writing skills
• Ability to use basic computer applications
• Ability to represent company in a professional manner to customers and suppliers
• A willingness to work flexible hours as needed
• Some travel to customer’s facilities is required, typically less than 10%
