We are a precision machine shop on Long Island, which mainly mills aluminum for Aerospace and Defense customers for the last 50+ years. We are a Haas shop, and still have some 1980's Matsuura's which are fully functional and used once or twice a month. We'd like to expand our capability offering to include complex turning of aluminum, steel, and other hard metals. We'd also like to get into more milling of tougher materials than aluminum, mainly inconel and steel. We have the RFQ's and customers who need these capabilities, but have to no-quote jobs because of time constraints and in-experience.

We're looking for someone who is primarily a turning specialist, and puts care and craftsmanship into each part that comes off the lathe. Like I said earlier, we are a family business who carries very high quality and delivery rates, and take pride in our work. We're trying to make a significant growth move in our offerings, and are looking for a long-term employee.

We can offer:
Deserved Wages
401K Plan with employer contribution
Paid time off/ sick days
Medical Benefits

Our machines and examples of parts we make can be found at Alpal Precision Machining Co., Inc.. We carry Mastercam and Surfcam Licenses, and are soon to be a AS9100 certified shop.

"Deserved wages"? That's a new one.
Probably about $35 an hour then?

Would you rather them post, "willing to pay $20 to $40 hr depending upon experience"? If you've never had to hire somebody then you don't understand all the idiots that come out of the woodwork.

Deserved wages meaning you're paid what a machinist/programmer deserves. We are machinists and know what the pay should be. Saying competitive wages means wages around the area, and they seem lower than we feel a proper Programmer/Machinist should be making.

That is the way to list a job offering. The facility looks nice, the parts/work looks like decent work. If I was closer I would send my resume and maybe we'd talk.

Looks like a nice opportunity, but I dont see how people survive in New York. Cost of living compared to where I will now is outrageously higher. They would have to pay me 75K more than what I currently make for me to even be able to maintain my standard of living. Even at that, being in a higher tax bracket I would see less money in the end. Plus I am sure this job would not pay 125K/year. Maybe the statistics online are way off...makes no since. Housing is 267 percent higher in new york.
