On a Cincinnati No. 2 MR, What does the “R” stand for? I’ve seen #2M & #2ML, but never this model number. Some sort of extra feature??

Not sure the MR. I also have seen ML, MH, and MI. Of the ones I have seen, any letter representation after, seems to indicate a smaller size, than an actual No 2.

One thing may be the time period, with certain lever, or control style features. Like the MH's were only made till the late 1930's or early 1940's

I can only make out what looks like 2J as first two digits of serial in the pic. With the full serial you can probably figure out more. I use this site a lot, but when clicking down the "j" portion, I only see MI's with a 2J start:

This is my best attempt at deciphering: 2J2P0C-52 or... 2J2306-52 ???
............. Date code (the 5 part) may be 5Z which is 1972......... Only 2J (the model) in the serial book are M1............ The 2P is #2 Plain (not universal or vertical)......still never heard of MR.........a guess on the R might be REISSUE

Not impossible that it is 2j2p6c, though I don't know of a 6c in serials, but my first impression was 5C:

The guy re-listed this Cincinnati, saying he has to move in a week. But lowest he will go is $1500. I hear them being bought for much lower prices when I search here. 👎🏼

Its a No. 2 (205 - 12 ) MI plain mill , model LL There is no 6C in the serial numbers. It is a 5 C, 1955, Lookat the right face upper right hand corner., serial number should be there also.
