A friend gave me this plate, pulled from a machine going to scrap.
Kind of a neat gift.
What’s the machine?

If you can show an in-focus closeup of the serial number, it can probably be figured out. From the photo you've given, it could be anything from probably a 30-year window.

Mills had a long history of casting it in. 1897, 1903 and 1930 in thumbnails

Given it's size (compared to he bricks behind it) and shape, I'd say it's off an old Planer. This one's a hydraulic, but similar font and shape.

Yep - you have to go to G&L in the serial book to see what became of Cincinnati planers - and none had that type of serial:D
I'll drop them a note.
It was taken from a defunct machine shop dating to WWII.

Any other "Cincinnati" brand machine tool companies I need to know about?
What about other Cinci machines by the mill guys, would they have put a plate on something else instead of casting it in?
