Took a cut today and the dogs disengaged so I tore the head apart. The culprit seems to be the ball detent groove on the main shaft is worn allowing the shaft to sit lower than it should. My plan is to drill a new hole in the sleeve to hold the ball and spring so that it contacts the shaft along the detent in a fresh position. Looking at the dogs I am starting to wonder if after all this it will disengage too easily because of the condition of the dogs. I wanted to hear the opinions of those who have dug into the toolmasters before. Thanks
