Drive Gear Info - 2CH High Speed Universal Head
I own a K & T 2CH Horizontal Milling Machine and a High-Speed Universal Head with a Quill. I was given a homemade drive gear, but have mounting questions for other 2CH Owners to help answer.
1. Is the drive gear mounted directly to the spindle face?
2. If NO, what is the distance between the spindle face and gear?
3. How wide is the drive gear?
Since the drive and driven gears are helical, proper gear location is critical. Using an old tool holder to center the gear in the spindle. I just need the dimension off of the spindle face or machine column.
Thanks, in advance.

We have a high speed head without the quill, here's how ours works.
The drive gear is directly bolted to the horizontal drive with two tabs that locate within the notches on the drive head.
The distance between the gears is regulated by flat cylindrical discs that are mounted to the side of both the gears that provide for correct gear mesh/depth.

Interesting and possibly related - is your spindle gear 38 teeth? Is the gear in the head driven by the spindle gear 26 teeth?

Maybe we can get Ramsay1 to comment on his 2H gear he made
