I went and looked at this machine last weekend, and I am going back to pick it up saturday morning. After wiring it back up, as the seller had already unhooked it from power, I ran it through all the motions.
All the feeds worked well, and the spindle sounded good up to the max of 1500rpm. No excessive gear train noise. The rapid was barely engaging, but seemed like a clutch adjustment will correct that.

I am excited to get it back to the shop this weekend, and start using it. Comes from a closed tool & die shop who said they only ever used it to face off die blocks as long as they had it.

I am going to flush it out and put fresh oil once I have it moved. Other than being dirty, and having sat for the last 2 years, it seems like it can go right into service. If there is anything else I should look over before putting it to work then please let me know.

Sorry for the pictures being horizontal...:rolleyes5: Corrected in the post below

Thank-you. I looked through the literature they had on this a bit the other day before going to look at it in person. I have always wanted something similar as well, but have only found larger c frame type mills like the Cincinnati's that are just too much to deal with. This is really the perfect mill for what I wanted. I doubt that I will be disappointed with it once I get it set up in the shop. I am feeling excited to go get it moved tomorrow.

These are wonderful machines. Mine is actually a 3 HP 1CH (basically a 2CHL with a smaller table). K&Ts smallest machine and it will do things that would make a Bridgeport cry. Making sure you have oil flow at the head and knee is the #1 thing to check.

I have three K&T mills.. I have a 2h plain, a 2hl universal, and a 2d tool and die mill... All three are real milling machines as yours... K&T never made an overgrown drill press to my knowledge and all will remove metal in a heavy fashion.....The key is rigidity... Tool only moves in the path designated... I was once told this by an old K&T factory man.. Cheers from scorching Louisiana.. Ramsay 1:)

I got the machine moved without incident this morning. Probably make room for it next week and clean it up then as well. I just got it unloaded and put inside before it rained this afternoon, and haven't had a chace to mess with it after. I feel like at least a gallon of oil must have splashed out of the base coming down the road.
