    Default K & T Autometric Tooling Adaptation

    My K & T Horizontal Autometric tooling adaptation is now complete. The spindle can use R-8 collets with use of a NMTB 40 Taper adapter, which came with the machine. Using special drive keys and a new drawbar, I adapted a K & T No. 40 Taper adapter which accommodates K & T No. 40 Taper tool holders. Finally, using special drive keys and a second new drawbar, I can use NMTB 40 Taper tool holders. This makes the Autometric very versatile for drilling, reaming, boring, and light milling by allowing a wide range of tool holders to be mounted in the spindle.

    I can also mount a right angle plate, Palmgren 8" rotary table, or 4" vise for holding my various workpieces.
