i have a 1944 2h universal mill with the typical table hand crank. i bought a K&T hand wheel off of fleabay, and made an adapter to use hand wheel on the table screw. i made it with detents to hold it engaged and disengaged, just like the in and out and knee handles. now you can engage the hand wheel and be in front of machine and grab top of wheel and position table much easer than trying to hold the spring loaded handle. i lost about an inch or so of leverage but still plenty easy feeding. it was a quick little project and didn't do any permanent changes to the existing table screw.
