I just picked this one up through a gov auction. Including all the fees I am out a total of $225.53.

Heaviest machine I have picked up so far. She's a beast.

They let me rummage through their stuff, but was unable to find the extension that would have come with it when new. They got it from the ship yards in Duluth MN, about 15 years ago. They cut two key-ways with it in that 15 years. They thought it was a milling machine until someone told them otherwise. They asked me what it is used for. LOL..

It currently has one 40 NSC collet that has a morse tapper to jacobs adapter. Not sure what size morse yet. Or it could be just a 40 NSC to jacobs, but will know for sure when I take it out and get a look at it.

Picture for enjoyment.

Tooling for K & T Vertical Autometric

I ran one of these Precision Vertical Boring Machines when I was an Apprentice at K & T during the early 1980's. Used it only for drilling/boring holes. No milling. It was a easy to use, robust machine. I currently have a Horizontal Autometric, with an R-8 spindle, in my shop.

I have a No. 40 K & T tapered holder and Jacobs chuck that might fit this machine. I also have some extensions that might be for your machine. Send me a PM and I will send you some photos of the tooling.

On the ground, whew...

Finally on the ground for now. What a adventure..

You have made an excellent purchase cb1,
This tool is now ready for a 1 tenth readout.

Took the collet or chuck out and it is a K&T 40 with a no.3 morse with a no. 3 morse to 3 jacobs adapter.

However, it looks like the morse to jacob adapter is for a drawbar and the collet is for a tanged adapter. LOL.

K&T Journeyman,

I have sent PM's, but not sure that feature is working for me as it show no messages sent...

Got it moved inside

Got the jig bore moved inside today.

It is pretty big. I am 5'10".

Set in the shop with the forklift and rolled it sideways on 6 1-1/2" pipes. It was actually pretty easy. Two people can push it on the pipes. Helps to sweep the floor clean beforehand.

Pics of course,

Here is a picture of the back of the K&T with my Bridgeport base in front of it, for comparison.

Thanks for the comments.

I did pick up two more tools for it off the bay.

So, now I have a MT2, MT3. Jacobs chuck and a boring head for the jig bore.

Hi, I also have an Autometric Model C, that we use to boring some holes but I'm running into some problems with the conical gears for the automatic advance of the quill, any idea where can I buy OEM parts for this machine...
Thanks
