While trying to reassemble the compound swivel on the base I found that the locating dowel is 1" while the hole in the swivel is .975". This is clearly not the original swivel. Debating on how to tackle this. Should I turn down the dowel or just open the swivel up? I'm thinking turning the dowel would be the easiest thing to get the correct allowances as I do have a lathe big enough to open up the hole in the swivel. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
