On start up, the motor was locking up on my Model C.
The contacts were terrible so I machined .008” off each one on the K&T 2D. I put the contacts back in, it started but was loud.
I should’ve went deeper from the beginning, the coils were bad. It took a few days to get the part numbers half sorted. I took a shot and ordered a 1964 part # that was close and it was a perfect match. A couple hours and $40 for some NOS coils and it should be good for another 60yrs.
Coil # 37674-502 is a replacement for coil #37640-502. The 2 at the end is for 220V and 501 is 110V.
