Hey guys,
Last week I picked up a P&W model C 16x30. It seems to be in decent condition. The serial number is 1066. A few years ago while on the hunt for a model C, I found a model B that was in good shape. The B is nice and works good, so I hate to get rid of it. Perhaps I can fit both of them in the limited space I have. This model C came with a steady rest and 4 jaw chuck. It has a coolant pump mounted on it and taper attachment. Top speed is 1000 rpm. I'm looking forward to getting it into position and seeing how it runs.

Mark

A "slope head" - when they thought they should still look a little like the B

1066 is 1945

Op and Parts can be emailed if you want to private message that address

John I think I have a steady rest that is a p&w that has a 5" hole and 7 1/2" center height. Where can I send pics and dimensions for verification. Thanks duck james waco tx

Hi Duck - they look like so - unique the way they adjust

What are the holes transverse but adjacent to the fingers?
If referring to part #9, those are the locking barrels - a pair of round plugs with suitable angle or profile acted upon by a thru clamping bolt

They hold the "fingers" after you get them where you want them.

IDK if this helps but here’s a couple pics of my Model “C” steadies.

Nice to have one the big ones Andy:)

I almost missed both the steadies and the taper attachment. :mad5: I was running the crane loading the machine and my buddy was poking around. He seen them about 20’ away from the lathe. In a corner under a pile of junk. There’s No doubt if he didn’t see them they would’ve ended up in the scrap pile.

7 1/2 center height seems small for a 16 (which probably throws 18"). any chance they are for a 12"? if so i know a guy that would buy it (me!)
