Oil for 2H Vertical
Hi Carmine:
I use Nuto 68 in the gearboxes on my 2hl horizontal, 2h plain horizontal,and 2d tool and die mill.. I use Lubriplate 3v way oil on the ways though...

My 2CH has the old name for DTE Heavy Medium right on it - which is also ISO 68

Exxon Mobil refers to these as circulating oils.

There's not a big difference between Mobil DTE 26 (marketed as a hydraulic oil) and Mobil DTE Heavy Medium (marketed as a turbine oil). Both are high-quality rust&oxidation-protected ISO 68 machine oils, and either would be fine in the gearbox.
