    It was that last whack that got it.
    I didn't hit it like an ogre, but I committed to it.
    It said "Tink", and my stomach dropped
    But all's well that ends well.

    I figure there's plenty of meat on the spindle to drive a 40 taper.
    The flange should push right up against the spindle nose.
    Gage Line on the B&S 13 is 2.07x" (.078 I think, although I read closer to 2" on mine )
    and gage line on a 40 taper is 1.75"
    I'll screw the drive key for the 40 taper right to the drive ear of the B&S 13.
    Hardest part for me is cutting the taper correctly.
    It's a little out of my league, but I'll give it a crack.
    Been meaning to cut some 40 Taper tooling anyway.

    Here's a vid I cobbled together turning the Internal taper for the B&S #13 to 40 taper adapter

    Spent last night setting everything up, and I'll be working on the B&S #13 taper tonight
