Popped up in middle of program while we were at lunch. Luckily tool was not in the work.

Anyway, 414 is HCAL B65005E/05 essentially says the motor, cable or transistor module is bad.

Disconnected motor power wires from board. Still get 414. First glance, would seem like error is on board.

Unplugged encoder from board with motor disconnected and get expected 401.

Getting continuity from each motor wire to ground. Have not disconnected wires at motor yet. Takes about an hour to get to motor.

Also getting continuity at board between X1,X2,X3 terminal and ground.??????

Correct procedures???

Chances that it has taken out transistor module????

When you say "continuity", what readings are you getting? If it is megohms then maybe not ideal but ok. If its k-ohms, then you've got troubles.

414 with motor disconnected is most often a shorted transistor module. When transistor modules short out it is not uncommon for that to damage the board, but it does not always. Sometimes a bad board causes the transistor to fail. Typically you won't know that until you install a new transistor and watch it go up in smoke. If the transistor failing damaged the board then usually you will get an excess error alarm with no axis movement.

Cable removed from motor and board. Open readings between any two wires and wires to ground.

At board.
Ground to X1,X2,X3 = 6.1M ohms
X1 to X3 = 98 ohms
X1 to X2 = 28 ohms
X2 to X3 = 66 ohms

Transistors bad??

Motor is finally out. Open between power pins and ground/neutral pin. 1.4 to 1.7 ohms between any two power pins. .4 ohms between case and ground/neutral pin. Okay???

Received device yesterday at noon. Making parts by 2 pm. Would have been here last Friday, but I didn't see email asking about shipping until 5 o'clock Thursday.
