31i how to backup 8 & 9000 programs?

We have our 1st 31i, and I can not get the 8 and 9000 programs out of it?
NE8 & NE9 are off. When I output O-9999 only programs below 8000 are in PROGALL?
If I try to output any 8 or 9000 program I get The Wrong data is used.
The machine is an 2018 Hyundai HBM.
Thanks for any help. The manual offers no explanation.

Do you need to back them up because of something you are doing with control (battery replacement, etc), or just to have them? Not sure about your make/model, but Haas machines come with a usb that has the original params and 9000 programs on it. Maybe check the electrical cabinet and see if you have something already.

Are these 8 and 9000 programs you have written, or were they supplied with the machine? They may be Built In Macro and in which case, parameter 12010 specifies if they can be edited or not and this includes being able to Download them.

Irrespective of the setting of parameter 12010, Built In Macros can be protected by a password, which will also inhibit them being Downloaded.

These are builder macros. There is no physical back up.
This is an new machine install, so I always try to make rainy day copies.
I will give parameter 12010 a go.

On our 18iMB outputting program O-9999 will output all programs, including 8 and 9000s. If Parameter 3202 NE8 and NE9 are zero.
