Is there anything unique about belt skimmer belts?
Will any old timing belt work?
Is there a spcific type of material needed?
Looking at belt skimmers, there appears to be a motor, pulley, belt, and a scraper..
We have a few wheel skimmers, but they are sensitive to the coolant level, and take out more coolant than oil.
We then have to let the "skim" settle out, and throw out the skimmed oil.
The Belt skimmers seem to work better, and only get the oil, never much coolant at all.
I Could spend $400 for a pre-packaged motor, pulley, belt.....
Or, "for the challenge" put one (or a bunch) together.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
