So I have a boring bar like this, with a 3/4” shank. It came with a machine that we purchased year’s ago. I’ve always wondered what to call them when I want to buy one. I always thought they were made as a linear broaching tool. I would like one with a smaller shank.
I happened to watch a video on YouTube, and he was using it as an ID threading bar with a hand ground HSS tool. Makes sense. I’ve always used it with a HSS ground for cutting in Z axis direction. Not X. But I still can’t find one online. Pic is from a screenshot from the video.
