Looking for help to know if this is something that is usable for a small hobby/small job service.
Is this usable it is three axis can you write programs for it or is this basically quick set up and everything is deleted after done? Can you truly do CNC work with us or is it unable to communicate with CAD type of work unknown of the age took a picture of quill set up is this the bad one or is this a better design new or design?

I appreciate all the input this is something new to me and really need some help because I don’t really have anybody else to follow this up with
Thank you
Justin

There looks to be also a DX model but I don’t know if it’s a three access it looks only like a two axis

If it's typical of the EZ Track models I've seen you can send Gerber files over a network from a desktop PC running CAD/CAM.

They're good machines for prototyping but being Bridgeport based are less rigid than newer production CNC equipment and must take lighter cuts. For your use it should be fine.

I used to program one from Mastercam, no issues.

how did you do the 2d movements and what post processor did you use?

I have a prototrak and need to get that going on mastercam.

the 2 axis cnc bridgeports get a bad rap for some reason but they are great machines if you think of them as a manual machine with extra features.
I can cut any size round hole with it without a second thought and no extra setup

yea its not as ridgid or fast as some 30hp cnc mill but I don't need that either and the by the time I program a part in a real cnc mill I can have it easily done on the prototrak with the conversational commands

I used a generic labeled post processor. I cut 17-4 on it all day.

Really handy little things.

Same here. We modeled in Inventor and ran it through FeatureCam without issue. Same control to what you have pictured (circa 2001-2002)
