We have an older Daewoo Lynx 200L that the chuck has quit running true. Our guess is someone crashed it and bent the draw tube. We are trying to remove the chuck and draw tube to repair it but we can not get it to break loose. Has anyone had this problem and if so, any suggestions on how to break it loose and remove it. At wits end.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Which styel do you have. There should have been a "wrench", which a steel tube with a thick wall with notches that fir the indented notches on the draw tube. It would have been in the set of tools that came with the machine. If you don't have that, you can make one. They unscrew fairly easy, so if it doesn't come out, it may have been damaged.

Assuming you can remove chuck, make 2# identical Hex nuts with threads matching chuck-end. (Draw tubes have standard threads, refer your manual). Assemble them on chuck-end of tube, lock 1st nut with second one and then use 1st nut to unlock the draw tube. Couple of tries and you should be there.

Yes many times, Vishrut idea is fkn awesome if you can take that kind of time. I try to shock it a bit with some type of direct blow, and machine a good sized slot in it for next time it happens. Extremely frustrating for sure.
