Celos Fanuc 31ib5 - wear offset adjustments sometimes ignored...

Must be something I'm doing wrong, but I've had this happen twice now.

Lift a wear offset on a turned diameter, like you do, to creep up on a tight tolerance. I do that, cuts oversize as expected, make the adjustment to wear, I can see the wear update in the tool info window, but it just cuts the same size again. I can continue to drop the wear offset and rerun, but it just keeps cutting the same size over and over.

In both cases I managed to get it take effect eventually by changing something in the tool offset page, like resetting the B axis position or something, but I haven't figured out what exactly fixes it, or have any idea at all what causes it.

Anyone got any thoughts on this?

I'll just say this in generic terms. On Fanuc, typically if you add or change something like your wear offset, you have to force the control to look at the change address again for it to take affect. Meaning it won't see the change unless you revisit the area of the control that was changed. Like say on a lathe, recall T0202, even if T0202 is already active. Re-visiting the address will update the offset.
